Miracle Garden and Butterfy Garden are two magical places in Dubai that will make every visitor feel like they are in a colorful, fairy-tale land. Many tourists (especially men) avoid these two places, thinking that they are just flowers and butterflies. I assure you that men will also be impressed, maybe not by the flowers themselves, but they will definitely be amazed by the scope of this extraordinary undertaking in its record-breaking size.
Miracle Garden
The opening of this magical place was in February 2013 after years of meticulous planning and hard work. The garden occupied an impressive area of 72,000 square meters and contained over 150 million blooming flowers. The idea was born in the mind of Mr. Abdel Naser Rahhal, an entrepreneur from the UAE, who was convinced of the success of such a huge garden in the middle of the desert. At the time of its opening, this garden was indeed located in the desert, amidst sand and a few cranes, which indicated that construction had started. Today, it is a bustling district of Dubailand. Every year, Dubai Miracle Garden introduces new attractions to interest and entertain visitors. Open to visitors every year from October to May, it remains closed during the remaining summer months and is rebuilt for the next season.
The Miracle Garden enjoys a constant stream of interest thanks to its annual transformations, and I visit every year. Not only is it a beautiful botanical garden, but it also holds several world records for its stunning floral installations. The replica Airbus A380 in the Miracle Garden is a sight to behold, taking up an astonishing 10% of the total area of the garden. The structure is adorned with an impressive 500,000 fresh flowers and plants, including the Emirates logo, which itself is 9,000 flowers. This colossal installation is 72 metres long and 24 metres high, earning it a well-deserved place in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest floral installation.
Whenever I visit this place I am delighted with new flower installations, charming places to relax and atmospheric restaurants. However, what arouses my greatest appreciation is the huge amount of work that people put into this place every day. Miracle Garden is quite a large paradise but still in the desert!!, in difficult climatic conditions and one must be aware of the enormity of this undertaking and that repeated every year for 13 years.
Butterfly Garden
In 2015, the flower garden was expanded to include butterfly gardens, which quickly became another favorite among visitors. The Dubai Butterfly Garden, the world’s largest indoor butterfly garden, features massive domes with free-flying butterflies. In addition to elegant walking paths, there are 15 food stations where the butterflies are fed with nutritious syrups and fruits such as mango, pineapple and watermelon. The garden covers an area of 2,600 m2 and is home to over 15,000 butterflies from 50 of the most beautiful species.
